UCAS Application Support

Help and advice for Year 12 students applying to study at university.

UCAS. That word may fill you with excitement, fear, or nothing at all, but if you’re in Year 12 and thinking about university it’s guaranteed to be an important part of your Sixth Form experience.

The first thing to do is start researching universities and courses, as even though it’s only December, your life will be far easier in Year 13 if you do as much as possible now! Start creating a shortlist of universities you like, and courses you might want to take. There’s lots of choice at university, so make sure you do your research and not just for the course, but the type of university you want to go to. Look out for their open days and virtual events and try to visit if you can. You will be there for at least 3 years so it needs to work for you, and talk to your teachers they are there to help!

Before you can apply you will need to register on UCAS and link to the school account, details will be released in the summer of 2024 – we will notify you when. However, get ahead of the process and read this handy guide - www.ucas.com/ undergraduate/applying-university (please note there are changes happening for 2025 entries).

“The UCAS application process went by smoothly, thanks to the help of the Sixth Form staff team, there was a lot of support given throughout!” Igor.P -Year 13.

“My process was very easy and straightforward when talking about going to uni, the staff helped me and made sure everything was sorted.” Cosmina.C Year 13.
