Students Gain Insight into Army Careers

The Basildon Upper Academy recently welcomed soldiers from the Royal Armoured Corps, who delivered engaging and informative assemblies to our Year 10 and Year 11 students.

The focus of the sessions was on careers in the British Army, with the two soldiers offering valuable insights into the opportunities available within the military.

Lance Corporals Liam and Elliott discussed the wide variety of job roles in the Army, highlighting the diverse career paths and global travel opportunities. They also spoke about the qualifications required to join, emphasising that recruits can continue to gain qualifications and training while serving in the Army.

In addition to their presentations, the soldiers brought along a fascinating collection of weapons, providing students with a closer look at armaments and sharing their knowledge of military equipment.

The assembly concluded with an interactive Q&A session, where students asked numerous questions, demonstrating their enthusiasm and interest in the topics covered.
