Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge
The Basildon Upper Academy hosted the Jack Petchey Speak Out Challenge with a series of workshops in February.
The dynamic and engaging hosts worked with groups of Year 10 students to look at the art of communication and how we can influence others. The groups reflected on the need to present themselves positively and with confidence for a range of reasons in their lives and practiced strategies to support them with this. Throughout the day, the groups built on their abilities to share their views and opinions leading to a short presentation at the end of the day to showcase the skills they had learned.
The hosts were really impressed with the supportive nature of the groups towards each other and the positive atmosphere created in the sessions. Well done to everyone who took part and represented not just the school but themselves with pride!
