Geographers Conduct Coastal and Economic Fieldwork at Walton-on-the-Naze
Year 11 Geography students recently had the opportunity to participate in a field trip to Walton-on-the-Naze.
As part of their GCSE studies, students conducted hands-on fieldwork on the beach, investigating coastal processes and erosion.
Following their coastal studies, students explored the seaside town to assess economic activity within the town. The research and evidence gathered during the trip will be an important component of their final examination grade, offering them practical insights to support their classroom learning.
“This trip was useful, as it will help me with my GCSE Geography Paper 3. My favourite part of the visit was interviewing local people and hearing their opinions about the town. It’s boosted my confidence in public speaking, which will also help me with my GCSE English speaking endorsement. Thank you to Mr. Pickering.” Oliver.N

"The Walton-on-the-Naze trip was definitely beneficial for my geographical studies, as we covered multiple sub-topics. For example, we measured rock sizes and identified key points about the surrounding areas, including their positives and negatives. Overall, it was a fun and valuable experience that taught me a lot." Nojus.K
