Year 11 Mock Interviews
Year 11 students recently had the fantastic opportunity to participate in mock interviews with industry professionals.
The event was organised by the Department of Work and Pensions, who secured business leaders and employers from various industries, to conduct interviews with our students.
This was an invaluable experience for students to take part in, with constructive feedback given after each interview.
“The mock interview was very useful. It helped me improve my speaking and listening skills as well as gain experience of what a job interview would be like.” Fred.C
“This event was very inspiring. The interviewer I engaged with was kind, and I felt comfortable and confident when talking to her. This experience has taught me the various institutions that are available for me to pursue my dream career of Zoologist. This has also given me an idea of what a real interview looks and feels like which will help me in future.” Eluney.BF
“This event was beneficial because it gave me a better understanding of how an interview would work. It has helped me communicate better on a one-to-one basis and with a person I’ve never met. The interview also gave me the opportunity to talk about my skills and achievements.” Bo-Starr.O
“The interviewer was the ideal person to speak to because we are both interested in construction. He spoke to me about the company Morgan Sindall, which piqued my interest.” Zac.C
“This event gave me a good understanding about job interviews and what type of questions might be asked. I also learned that I could apply for part-time jobs when I am 16.” Harrison.B
“The interview process made me realise that an interview is all about presenting yourself, describing the skills you have and how to answer questions. I feel I may have a better chance of getting a job in later life because of this event.” Kelsie.D
“I feel like this event was of benefit to me and has helped me to be more confident.” Moosa.D
“The students I have spoken to today have been very pleasant to talk to. Many of the students know what they want to do when they leave education, which is very refreshing to hear.” Louise Berry – Elite Leadership Development
“Applying for a job and attending an interview is not just about your qualifications, your personality and how you present yourself is equally important.”
