Lower Academy hosts charity coffee morning
On Friday the 28th October, the Lower Academy hosted a Coffee Morning to raise money for cancer charity Macmillan.
The event was organised and run by Miss Forecast and student volunteers, who bought in cakes and biscuits to be sold for small donations.
“Macmillan is such an important charity. Everyone likes cakes so we raised lots of money.” Angel Buchanan – Year 9
“This is a great way for people to support each other and show that people care. Events like this help to raise awareness of cancer.” Keira Emery – Year 9
“We were overwhelmed with the generous donations of money and cakes that were provided by both pupils and staff to support our very successful Macmillan Coffee Morning. We were expertly helped on the day by 7 of our students; Stevie, Paola, Angel, Kiera, Jacque, Shaun and Mason. A special thanks to both Mason and Paola who both brought in home-made cakes which went down a treat.” Miss Forecast
We are proud to announce that the Coffee Morning raised £76.78. Many thanks to all that helped with achieving this amount.
