Our Anti-Bullying Ambassadors were joined by students from neighbouring schools and together they took part in interactive sessions led by Paul & Harry from the Diana Award - Anti-Bullying Programme.

The purpose of the training was to help further develop skills in conflict resolution, online safety and public speaking. Working alongside our guests from the local community gave our team a fantastic opportunity to share good practice and learn how other ideas have been implemented. 

“The sessions were a great way for us to make new friends and to share ideas” said Year 11 student Jasmine Hunt, adding; “Be inspired by others”.

“Young people can change the world, is part of the Anti-Bulling Programme ethos, I feel really inspired by those words” commented Aspen Rajack – Year 11

Harry Bennett, from the Diana Award Team commented; “It’s great to see primary and secondary schools from the local area coming together to develop new ways to tackle bullying. This event had such a positive atmosphere and I hope that can be taken back into all their schools”.

The Anti-Bullying Ambassador programme is part of the charity, The Diana Award. The Diana Award was founded as a legacy to Diana, Princess of Wales’ belief that young people have the power to change the world for the better.

Over the years the Academies staff and students have worked closely with the Diana Award team supporting their national Anti-Bullying campaign. Through guidance and training, initiatives have been implemented within the school including ‘The Bubble’ which is a room designed to offer a sanctuary to students requiring support.
