We are delighted that you are considering applying to The Basildon Academies Sixth Form.

Please note that applications to The Basildon Academies Sixth Form (for September 2024 start) are now closed. 

Students who have not yet applied to study at our sixth form will need to complete their application and, attend our GCSE results and enrolment event at the Upper Academy on 22nd August. This event will run from 8am until 4pm.

Applications can only be submitted on this day and applicants will have the opportunity to meet with 6th form staff.

Students who have had their offers accepted will be invited to attend this event, to check they have achieved the grade requirements for their chosen courses and enrol on their sixth form pathway, ready for September 2024.

Admissions Route 2024 

Any student will be able to transfer from The Basildon Upper Academy onto one of the three pathways available in the sixth form. Individual entry requirements for subjects must be met. 

For all pathways, we expect excellent attendance and attitude to learning. The pathways we offer are: 

  1. Academic (A Levels) – Students will study 3 A Levels 

  1. Advanced Vocational – Students will study a L3 Vocational Programme equivalent to 3 A Levels 

  1. Intermediate Vocational – This pathway is for those students who have not yet secured a Grade 4 in English and Maths. Level 1 and 2 qualifications are studied within this pathway. 

Application Timeline (for September 2024) 

  • Thursday 5th October 2023 - Open Evening 17:00 - 19:00 

  • Monday 9th October 2023 - Applications open 

  • Monday 6th November 2023 - Application consultations start and will run throughout the academic year 

  • Thursday 28th March 2024 - Deadline for applications

  • W/C 1st July 2024 - Induction 

  • August 2024 GCSE Results Day and enrolment into Sixth Form 

While every effort will be made to accommodate your choice of subjects, we cannot guarantee to run a subject if the demand for it is too low to make it viable. 

On results day, members of the Sixth Form team will be happy to review your subject choices if you were to change your mind, subject to your examination performance and student numbers.
