The charity matches incredible individuals willing to donate their blood stem cells or bone marrow to people with blood cancer and blood disorders who desperately need lifesaving transplants.

During the visit, Sixth Form students attended a special presentation which highlighted the important work the charity undertake.

Year 13 students Lucy and Natalija both received nominations to become ambassadors for the charity.

“This charity is Important to me because my step brother received a bone marrow transplant so I got to see how vital a part it can play in someone’s life. I did a lot of research on stem cells transplants and it’s an amazing kind of treatment.”

"To be an Ambassador and to be a part of helping make people aware is really cool. For me it’s a great sense of fulfilment, you feel like you are doing something really important.” Lucy - Year 13

“I think this is a very worthy cause and I wanted to be a part of that. I signed up to give blood but as an extra step I also thought I may be able to help in another way, so I became an Ambassador to help spread the information to other people.” Natalija - Year 13
