National Careers Week 2025

Upper Academy students took part in a range of activities to celebrate National Careers Week, designed to inspire and inform them about future pathways.

A key focus this year was embedding careers education within the curriculum. By linking subjects to real-world careers, students gained a clearer understanding of how their learning connects to future opportunities. Teachers helped facilitate these discussions using resources such as Careers in the Curriculum and My Learning, My Future, making career education a natural part of lessons.

Throughout the week, students engaged in activities including a virtual assembly, subject-based career discussions, and a Careers and Skills Quiz; which encouraged them to explore different pathways in a fun and interactive way.

We were delighted to welcome Connexions, a specialist careers service that provides impartial guidance on further education, training, and employment. Their support helped students feel more informed and confident about their next steps.

National Careers Week was a fantastic opportunity for students to think about their future aspirations and the skills they’ll need in the world of work.
